How to vote
Wainfleet votes by mail
No polling stations. Your ballot comes to your mailbox. Here is how to make sure it arrives and counts.
- Confirm you are on the voters listThe list is now maintained by Elections Ontario. Check your information at registertovoteon.ca. Residents, owners and tenants of land in Wainfleet who are Canadian citizens and 18 or older can vote.
- Watch for your ballot kitKits are mailed to every eligible voter in early October. If yours has not arrived by mid-October, contact the Township Clerk at 905-899-3463.
- Mark your ballot and sign the declarationVote for one Mayor and up to four Councillors, and sign the voter Declaration Form in your kit. An unsigned or missing declaration means your ballot is rejected.
- Seal and return by 8:00 p.m. October 26Use the envelopes provided. Mail it early, or deliver it to the Township Offices at 31940 Highway 3 during office hours, or use the after-hours drop box at the front door. Ballots must be received by 8:00 p.m. on election day.
