Contributions pay for printing, postage and signs. Every dollar is reported to the Clerk and becomes public record.
Ontario Municipal Elections Act rules
- You must be an individual normally resident in Ontario. Corporations and unions cannot contribute.
- Maximum $1,200 to any one candidate, and $5,000 total to all candidates in the same municipality.
- Cash contributions are limited to $25. Larger amounts by card, cheque or e-transfer.
- Contributions over $100 are reported with your name and address in the campaign's financial filing, which is public.
- Contributions are not tax deductible for municipal campaigns in Ontario.
The easiest way to contribute is by Interac e-transfer to scottwilliamwilson1@gmail.com. Please include your full name and Ontario address in the transfer message so the contribution can be reported to the Clerk as required.
Prefer a cheque? Make it payable to "Scott William Wilson Campaign" and mail it to 11829 Lakeshore Rd., Wainfleet, ON L0S 1V0.
